Jan Jireš

Director General for Defence Policy and Strategy Division of the Ministry of Defense of the CR

From July 2022, Jan Jireš is the Director General of the defense policy and strategy section of the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic (previously deputy director of the section). Until then, he worked as the head of the defense section of the Permanent Delegation of the Czech Republic to NATO in Brussels. Between 2009 and 2014, he was a teacher of international relations and security studies at the CEVRO Institute and at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University. In 2014, he became the director of the defense policy and strategy section of the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic. Since 2017, he has been the director of the Department of Foreign Workplaces of the Defense Policy and Strategy Section of the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic in Brussels.
