The conference „Our Security Cannot Be Taken For Granted“ is the prestigious national conference, the only conference in the Czech Republic that brings together top-level state representatives, politicians, experts and military representatives who discuss challenges and plans for further ensuring the defence and security of the Czech Republic. The 3rd edition of the conference took place on 27 May, 2016 in in the premises of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.
Main changes in the security environment in last year were drawn up from the point of view both the Czech Republic and international institutions. The answers to the question how the Czech Republic should and can reflect these changes were explored, whereas the position and stance of the Czech Republic to these problems were discussed in the context of the NATO Warsaw Summit in July, which was preceded by the conference.
Chairmen of all political parties represented in the Chamber of Deputies were invited to the conference again, together with minister, Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces, and others. The role of the keynote speaker was taken up by an exclusive foreign guest, Alexander Vershbow, NATO Deputy Secretary General.
