Petr Pavel

President of the Czech Republic

Petr Pavel was elected president of the Czech Republic in 2023 and took office on March 9. He is a retired army general. He served as Chief of the General Staff of the Army of the Czech Republic and between 2015 and 2018 as Chairman of the NATO Military Committee. He participated in the UNPROFOR mission in the former Yugoslavia and represented the Army of the Czech Republic at the headquarters in Brunssum, in Mons, and in the EU military committee.
