Alexandr Vondra

Alexandr Vondra has been a member of the European Parliament since 2019, where he is a member of the ENVI committee and the delegation for relations with the United States. Since January 2020, he has also been the Deputy Chairman of the ODS. He is a Czech diplomat and politician, former Minister of Defense and Foreign Affairs, expert on international relations and former director of the CEVRO Institute’s Center for Transatlantic Relations. He teaches political science at the CEVRO Institute and Charles University. He also served as the Czech ambassador to the USA and a senator of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, is a signatory of Charta 77 and a former dissident.
